Tips for Choosing Your Perfect Color

• Choosing your perfect color is easy with Remy Clips! We offer color samples you can see in the comfort of your own home. This takes the guesswork out of choosing which hair extension color will look best with your natural hair. For the best color match, we suggest matching the samples with the ends of your hair, not the roots. Most natural hair is lighter on the ends and darker at the roots. Since clip in hair extensions sit under your natural hair, it's the ends that will show the most. To blend your human hair extensions to your hair, color match the ends.

• Choose a shade that is closest to your hair color or choose the next color that is lighter. If you need to color the hair to get a custom match, it is always better to add a darker color to the hair extensions than to bleach the hair. Though you can safely bleach Remy Clips up to 2 shades difference, bleaching should be avoided to help prolong the life of your hair extensions. Remember, most extension hair has already been chemically treated into the different hair colors you can choose from.

• Most hair extensions that are within 1 shade of your hair color, will blend by mixing with your natural hair and adding multi-dimensional color. A darker color will darken your overall hair color slightly and might be a nice warm look for Fall. A shade lighter will lighten your hair just a bit and could be a great look for the Summer months. You can custom blend the color further by adding highlights or lowlights. Our Remy human hair extensions can be safely customized with highlights or lowlights.

• ​Though you can safely color your Remy Clips, we recommend that you do not bleach the entire hair extension set. Bleaching the entire set of extensions could cause damage to the hair. We recommend that you always dye your clip in hair darker with salon-quality dye. Demi-Permanent hair color is recommended to darken your Remy Clips human hair extensions. Demi-Permanent dye is semi-permanent and lasts up to 27 washings.  It is gentle, non-damaging, and perfect for coloring clip in hair extensions, halo hair extensions, and your own natural hair.

• When choosing highlights and lowlights for your extension hair, for a natural look it is best to stay in your color range. If your hair is ashy, stay with ash tones that will blend best with your natural ash hair color. You or your stylist can safely add highlights and lowlights that are 2 shades difference for a natural look.
