Clip In Hair Extensions, Remy Extensions, Virgin Hair - It's So Confusing!

  • Not sure what kind of clip in hair extensions you are buying? Most consumers don't! Let's break it down so you know what you are getting because not all hair extensions are made the same!!!

1. Virgin hair extensions: Virgin hair is unprocessed hair in raw form. It comes in natural colors only, generally backs to dark browns, European raw hair has lighter colors. This type of extension hair is the most expensive in the world. This is the highest grade of hair so expect to pay up to $500.00 - $1,000.00 a bundle for 4 ounces of virgin raw hair.  Virgin hair is rarely made into clip in extensions due to the high cost of the hair. This hair is true "remy cuticle hair" and has... never been colored, permed, acid washed, or chemically processed. The cuticles are aligned and run in the same direction which makes the hair almost tangle free. Because of it's cost, it is usually found in shorter lengths of 14 to 20 inches long, and sold in 4 oz bundles. Generally, it takes up to 3 - 4 bundles for a full head when doing a weave in application. It is almost always sold for weaves in loose bundles. You can find virgin hair in single and double drawn hair ratios. Virgin remy hair can be colored darker and bleached lighter safely and styled like your natural hair. What makes Remy Clips clip in extensions and halo hair extensions different?

  • Remy Clips remy hair extensions are made with100% Select Remy Cuticle Intact Human Hair, not mixed with any animal hair or synthetic man made fibers. Our hair is single drawn, starts as virgin remy hair, and our clip in hair sets are made up of several donor's hair. The cuticles are aligned and the hair is processed into straight or wavy textures, and dyed darker or lightened into one of our beautiful colors.  Remy Clips also offers high gram weights of 100% remy hair extensions at extremely affordable prices.  We know that 4oz or 100 grams of hair is not enough for a full head application. How do I know which color to choose?

  • Since remy hair extensions sit under your hair the general rule is to match the color of the ends of your hair. If you are still not sure which color will match the best, we offer Color Samples so you can see and feel the hair quality and color in the comfort of your home. This is the best way to find your perfect match before you buy. Our color numbers are based off of the most popular hair color charts. They are in most cases they are the same or very close to the colors you find in retail stores and beauty supply stores. We want you to be comfortable with your choice so each color number can be referenced on most hair color charts to get the best match. How do I know what length is best for me?

  • You can use our Length Chart to decide what length will work best for you. If you will be blending the human hair extensions into your hair, your stylist may need to trim them. You might want to with a longer length so you don't lose any length once the hair is trimmed.

 

 

How do I know what gram weight is best for me?

How long does my hair have to be to wear Remy Clips Hair Extensions?

  • We recommend a minimum of 6 inches of hair. Longer hair is better to blend the ends of your natural hair into the extensions.

Should I get straight hair or body wave?

Can I color my Remy Clips Hair Extensions?

  • Our extensions are 100% remy human hair. Our Remy Hair has gone through a dyeing and texture chemical process. Although our remy hair extensions are designed to accept color, we recommend that you only color the hair darker and no more than 2 shades difference. If you color the hair darker or lighter, we highly suggest that you get professional help with a experienced extension hair colorist before coloring your clip in hair extensions or halo hair extension. Dyeing and bleaching any human human extensions can damage the hair if not done properly and this can lead a shorter lifespan for your Remy Clips Hair Extensions.   • Though many of our customers color our clip in hair extensions without issue, we recommend that you always use professional salon products on our hair extensions. Highlights and lowlights are safe when using quality color products. We do not recommend over all coloring of the hair without professional help.   

 

 

Can I use styling tools on my Remy Clips Hair Extensions?

  • Yes you can! We always recommend using a heat protector spray and to set your heat dial to a low temperature no more than 320 to 340 degrees. The less heat you use the better. Heat is all remy human hair extensions worst enemy and will in time dry out the hair.  Try to air dry when possible and use curlers to get curls and use heat styling tools for touch ups. Can I wash my Remy Clips Hair Extensions?

  • Yes, try to stay away from shampoos with sulfates in them and use hydrating conditioners! Leave-in conditioners and heat protector will prolong the life of your clip in hair extensions. Check out our Hair Care Guide to preserve the life of your Remy Clip extensions.

  • ONLY wash your Remy Hair Extensions when they look like they need it! Since the hair is cut and no longer has access to the scalp's natural oils, it will lose moisture much faster than the hair on your head. There is no need to wash them as often as you wash your own hair.

 

 

How long do Remy Clips Hair Extensions generally last?

  • Remy Clips Remy Hair Extensions on average last 6 to 9 months. The lifespan of your human hair extensions will depend on how much you use them, how often you color them and how well you take care of them. If you only use them occasionally, they will last longer.
